We finally made it, we've opened our doors and we are now pouring in our extensively renovated space in the Historic Lincoln Building in Downtown Watertown. Come down and check things out and grab a flight or pint of one of our 8 beers brewed on site and poured in our taproom. This being our second full week being open we are especially glad to annouce that our Porter (A Pint of Plain) and our California Common (Extra Medium) are now on tap and available for your enjoyment. Cheers!!!
How shortly you ask? We plan on opening our doors next week!!! If you are a Mug Club member then you are in luck (if you're not then get over to our store and claim a spot) because opening day comes early for you - JUNE 28, 2018 at 4 PM. The following day we will be open for the general public during the Downtown Watertown Summer Block Party.
Since our last update we have been busy and there are still a lot of loose ends to tie up before opening day, but we will be opening in less than a week so get yourself ready. Opening day we are tentatively slated to release six beers, with plans to release at least two more within the first two weeks. Check out the pictures of our progress below and get ready for opening day.
The Mug Club sales have been live for just over 24 hours and they are going quickly. We are updating the available numbers left in an effort to streamline ordering because as of today almost 1/3 of the numbers have been spoken for. Remember that Tier one pre-sales will continue until Friday May 4th (12 PM EST) when we open up TIer Two and Three, at which time numbers will be assigned on a first come basis.
Thanks for the support and Cheers!!!
We've received a good number of requests for specific numbers in the Mug Club and we want to make it fair for everybody. We've even told family members they need to get in line just like everyone else. So we've come up with a way to allow specific number choices:
First come, First pick, and only for Tier One.
Tomorrow (April 27th at 12 PM EST) the pre-order for Tier One memberships in the Mug Club goes live in our store, and since Tier One memberships are given early access we've decided they will be the only Tier allowed to pick specific numbers in the Mug Club. When Tier Two and Three go live on (May 4th 12 PM EST) they will be assigned numbers based on the time of order.
Additionally, Mug Club items will not be available until our opening weekend at the Brewery, and at that time will be in-store pickup only.
Cheers and Good Luck!!!
We're pretty sure that if you are on this site in the first place that you like beer, and if you're looking at this post then "free beer" was enticing enough for you to see what we're talking about. In our last update we hinted at the details of a Mug Club but now we're going to give you the full scoop.
There will be three tiers of the Club, and each is definitely better than the next:
Tier Three ($65): Membership, just without extra swag. What you get is a mug that holds 25% (That's not a typo - it's 25%) more than our normal glasses but you pay normal pint price whenever you come to the brewery. You also get an empty growler with the Boots Brewing Company logo.
Tier Two ($75): Middle of the road membership where we up the ante slightly. In addition to your Mug and Boots Brewing Company growler, you get a Boots Brewing t-shirt to let everyone know about your next level awesomeness.
Tier One ($100): Top of the layer cake, you not only get the Mug, and a free fill of your Boots Brewing Company growler, but you also get a custom made Boots Brewing Company rugby jersey (pictured below), and you get to jump ahead of the line for any future special events or ticket sales.
Now here's the catch, because there's always a catch.
1. The first rule of Mug Club is that you are encouraged to talk about Mug Club. Mostly because in the first year there will only be 100 spaces for members, and if you want to ensure your friends get into the Mug Club you will have to spread the word.
2. There will be a pre-order period starting on May 4th, which is before our opening date, to ensure we have enough merchandise on hand for opening. Those who choose to go with a Tier One membership will have an extra week starting on April 27th for pre-orders. All pre-orders will be through our online store.
3. Memberships are good for one year (by default all pre-order memberships will start on our opening weekend). Renewals will be priced at $50 if you don't want new merchandise, but want to continue using your Mug. You can only pay the renewal price if you were a member in the prior year.
4. Last but certainly not least, the Mugs will be numbered, and these numbers will be first come first serve. If you have a number that you specifically want you can request any number between 1-100 when you sign up, but if it is taken you will either have to trade for it or pick another number.
Pre-order April 27...
Wait and you may miss out ...
The last month and a half have been busy for us as we have been checking more and more items off the list as we move towards opening. We've taken delivery of some major pieces of equipment including our keg cooler, draft system, and fermentation tanks. We've also completed major renovations to our brewing area including finishing the walls, rewiring electrical, and new plumbing in the brewing area. We've also had a few setbacks that put us a few weeks behind. Included in those setbacks were the refitting of sprinkler lines, and a break in the buildings main drain. The last of which resulted in excavation of our new concrete floor and extensive re-plumbing of the main drain for multiple tenants in the building. This hasn't dampened our drive to the finish line and as we've said many times before, "We will be open soon!!!" We promise. To finish on the positive side of things we are looking forward to being featured on the new TV show "Brewed in New York," the launch of an online merchandise store, and will soon be announcing plans for a membership driven mug club. (Hint: if you like discounts, swag, and generally being awesome then the club is the way to go.)
We get asked all the time, "When are you opening?" Honestly, we don't know. Our original plan after signing our lease at the end of 2016 was to be open sometime in the spring of 2017. Obviously since it's 2018 we were way off, but dealing with a renovation in a building that is roughly 150 years old, and a city with laws that sometimes seem just as old, we've had our hands full. But don't worry our perseverance is paying off and it won't be too much longer. In the meantime we'll post some snap shots of what we've been up to over the past year.
